Climate Change and the Church

Join us as we welcome Brian Webb and Pastor David Rice on Climate Change and the Church. The climate crisis represents one of the greatest challenges facing humanity in the 21st century, yet we seem to be making little progress on reducing emissions.  With their moral and ethical foundations, religious institutions have the potential to inspire people toward climate solutions.  But does this happen?  We’ll look specifically at Christianity to examine how the church engages with climate change and what factors might create opportunities or barriers for faith-based climate action within the Christian tradition.  Ultimately, we hope to provide some context for the unique challenges of engaging Christians on climate change, as well as inspiring examples of the Christian church taking action to address this issue. In our discussion, we will invite the audience to consider how these examples might apply to other faith-based communities.
